Britain slaps new sanctions on Russian goods, oil refining tech

MOSCOW, Jun 23 (PRIME) -- The U.K. slapped new sanctions on Russia, including additional measures against the country’s goods and oil refining technologies, the U.K. Department for International Trade said in a statement on Thursday.

The ban covers exports and supplies of goods and technologies for oil refining, including exports of jet fuel and fuel additives, as well as provision of technical support, assets, financial services, and brokerage support in the sphere.

The U.K. banned delivery to the country or utilization in Russia of British pounds and banknotes issued in the E.U., or delivery of the banknotes to an entity connected with Russia.

The new sanctions expand the ban on provision of goods and services to Russia that are connected with maritime transportation.

Moreover, the new sanctions ban imports of goods from Russia that benefit the country’s authorities.
